Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more people are working from home. But for people to work from home, they need to have the right tools. And an online whiteboard is a specific tool that every remote worker needs.

But before we get into why you need it, let’s explain a bit about the concept of what it is.

What Is An Online Whiteboard?

Since we’re slowly transitioning work into the online space, having the right tools is of utmost importance. An online whiteboard serves a very unique purpose in the grand scheme of things. Not only can you use it for your own personal needs, but this amazing tool makes it easy for us to correctly interpret data, improve communication, and give us a new perspective on projects.

This tool looks like a real-life whiteboard, only it’s on the World Wide Web. You can draw on it, write on it, and do everything else that you can do on a real-life one.

Why Should You Use It?

So we know what it is, but are there are specific reasons why you should an online whiteboard? To answer that, let us give you our 6 reasons.

1.    No Human Interaction

It’s safe to say that a lot of coworkers use the company whiteboard for brainstorming. This makes it very unsafe in this time and age. An online whiteboard can be used by multiple people at once, meaning you can invite your team over to an app and have everyone see what you’re doing.

But this time, you won’t have to sanitize it before using it. This brings an added element of safety.

2.    It Is Very Reliable

An online whiteboard puts the words “remote work” to good use. Not only are these apps easily accessible but they are super reliable. You can work on your project in private or share them with your team as you go along.

But the bottom line is that you can rest assured knowing the app won’t crash, leaving your progress unsaved. Also, you can invite and remove people from the project as you please. This means you control who can and cannot see your project.

3.    Better Communication

Since more and more people are working from home, the need to be on top of things is of utmost importance. Communication software can get you only so far when dealing with more complex projects that require all hands on deck.

Since an online whiteboard makes it possible for the whole team to be present at once in a group session, it actually allows companies better communication.

Not only can the rest of your team observe the progress in real-life, but you can also attach sticky notes that are hidden. These notes can be used to offer further explanations on specific parts of the project.

This eliminates the need for your coworkers having to call you to provide an explanation for something.

4.    Encouraging Collaboration

The whole purpose of online tools is to mimic their real-life counterparts. But instead of only being a copy on the World Wide Web, online tools bring something more to the table; something that the real-life thing will never have.

The great thing about these tools is that they’re intuitive. They’re something new that we aren’t used to and that makes them highly attractive. Whether that’s the interactive interface, the easy-to-use tools, or any other feature.

Naturally, everyone will want to try it and learn the technology.

5.    Everything In One Place

And lastly, what better reason to use such a tool than the fact that it keeps everything tidy? No longer do you have to worry about the marker going missing. Simply go online, invite your team members, and start working on something new and familiar at the same time.
