Christian Comair is the indirect owner of GET Group, an international organization operating in a range of specialisms, including design; structure; fitting out; mechanical, electrical, and plumbing; facility management; landscaping; marine; and infrastructure. This article will take a closer look at marine and infrastructure projects GET Group and its subsidiaries have participated in, including projects managed and completed by GET Group.

GET Group was proud to participate in the construction of beaches one and three at West Bay North Development in Doha. The development project involved extending the West Bay North shoreline, culminating in the creation of additional stretches of beach to attract residents from across wider Doha to West Bay North for leisure, recreation, and hospitality.

A prime waterfront location, the site boasts considerable potential to add significantly to the city experience while simultaneously enhancing and protecting West Bay’s existing real estate value. The aim of the West Bay North project was to deliver quality experiences to local people and visitors alike through the creation of high-quality urban beach bars and sports, leisure, and events facilities. The project was intended to overcome barriers by creating an attractive waterfront boulevard as well as an internal streetscape network to allow pedestrians and cyclists to travel safely. Future building function uses include cafes, art galleries, restaurants, boutique hotels, cultural centers, sports clubs, social clubs, and limited retail.

In preparing the West Bay North site, GET Group was also responsible for demolishing existing substations and embassies, as well as surface cleaning, excavations, and earthworks. The company installed a precast boundary wall and groynes structure, overseeing beach sand placement and leveling. GET Group also oversaw the supply and installation of beach facility and furniture works, including construction of a beach volley and football court, barrier floats, a lifeguard stall, a playground area, open showers, a beach lounge, and the addition of beach umbrellas.

GET Group was also the driving force behind a nine-kilometer shore deepness transformation in Sumaysimah, Qatar. Spanning 12 months, the marine and infrastructure design-and-build project paved the way for the creation of three new beaches: the south, middle, and north. Created to enhance quality of life for the local community while simultaneously helping to develop tourism, the project involved dredging a swimming area with a length of nine kilometers, a width of 575 meters, and depth of 1.8 meters. To complete the project, GET Group had to import beach sand, construct a breakwater and groynes to stabilize the sand, and construct seating areas for family leisure.

From landside bases to coastguards, GET Group and its subsidiaries build and maintain state-of-the-art, effective marine solutions, ensuring that clients’ operations are conducted as smoothly from the water as they are on land. Working in varied and challenging conditions, GET Group ensures that the water’s waves and capacity are taken into consideration when designing and building harbor basins, thereby guaranteeing safety of berthing and proper construction of fuel stations, travel lift piers, quay walls, boat launching ramps, and other facilities. GET Group is committed to developing marine projects with the utmost professionalism and compelling finishing.

Kristian Comair became the indirect owner of GET Group in 2005, overseeing turnkey projects including the restoration of historic municipal buildings, marine and mega projects, the development of hotels and resorts, and the construction of villa complexes, palaces, and castles. Headquartered in Qatar, GET Group has successfully completed 39 projects to date, with the company employing a workforce of 7,000 employees working on projects across Greece, Lebanon, Qatar, and Oman.
