Hi, my fellow musician! If you are reading this article, it means that you are seriously thinking of making your own songs, or maybe you have already been in this industry for a while? One thing is sure: you have decided to choose Spotify for sharing your songs with the world, and that was the right choice! Now the only thing you need is to understand its mechanisms, and I am here to help you. One of the most important Spotify tools that I am going to tell you about today is Spotify playlists. Many people underestimate Spotify playlist placement and the most common reason for it is the lack of knowledge. So if you have never heard of playlists on Spotify or still don’t believe that they can change your music career stay here and let me change your mind.

As I have already mentioned, choosing Spotify as a platform for developing your music career is the right step. I mean, it is the world’s most popular audio streaming service!  Can you imagine that  100 mln people use Spotify daily? And yes, that means that they all are your potential audience. But how to make sure that as many people as possible among this huge number of Spotify users will listen to your song? How does it happen that one becomes popular and the other never achieves success? The answer is simple, the key to becoming famous is promotion.

One of the most popular mistakes is paying too much attention to the process of music production and neglecting what happens to a song after it gets uploaded to a streaming service. Many people believe that simply releasing their song on such a popular platform as Spotify guarantees them success when a huge number of Spotify’s listeners can actually make it even more difficult to achieve it. Spotify is popular not only among music fans but also among artists which means that the number of songs uploaded every day is enormous and the competition for the listeners is tough. So if you want to be sure that your songs reach their target listener you shall focus on their promotion, and the best way to do it is to invest in playlist placement.

Why playlists? The answer is simple: because that’s how most people find new artists. I am sure we all sometimes have this moment when we just need some new music. We may not know which artist to listen to but we still are able to say which genre we prefer – so we simply search for a suitable playlist and trust Spotify’s choice. That’s why it is crucial for your songs to appear on those playlists.

Another good thing about using Spotify playlist placement is that it gives you a guarantee to reach your target listener. As I’ve mentioned before – playlists on Spotify are usually dedicated to one specific genre, mood, theme, etc. This means that placing your song into such a playlist will not just give you a bigger number of plays but will help you to reach a specific group of people who are interested in the music style you are working in.

So basically playlist placement is not created for cheating or for gaining easy success – it is created to help you get what should be yours. In other words, what I’m trying to say is that if your music is good (and we both know it is) then it deserves to be heard. And there are for sure thousands of Spotify users who would appreciate it, but the problem is about making sure that your music reaches them and does not get lost in hundreds of thousands of other songs. The sad truth is that very often Spotify users are overflowed with the tracks released every day on this platform, so if you believe that your music deserves more appreciation and you are tired of being unnoticed now you know what to focus on.
