Cannabis still has some controversies in term of its legality. Some places allow the consumption of cannabis. Then, there are also some countries and regions that still allow the consumption of cannabis under the strict and specific laws. Meanwhile, some countries still do not give permission to the consumption of cannabis so it is illegal and people consuming cannabis in these countries will be penalized depending on the regulation. In this case, Spain becomes one of the countries that still allow consumption and even cultivation of cannabis. However, the decriminalization of cannabis still has some limitation or restrictions. There are reasons and considerations for the decriminalization of cannabis consumption and cultivation. One of them may be the fact that Spain is one of the countries in the world that have many people consuming the cannabis. Based on the research, it is found that Iceland and United States are also like Spain. These countries have good friendliness with the cannabis consumption and cultivation. Thus, it is not strange that the laws do not forbid the cannabis.

As what is mentioned before, the laws in Spain do not totally decriminalize the cannabis. There are still restrictions and these should be followed perfectly unless the people want to get penalty. Regarding the laws and regulations, people are allowed to consume and cultivate the cannabis but it is limited to the private property. In other words, the cannabis is legal as long as it is for the personal use. This is actually also related to the characteristics of drug laws in Spain and it states that the laws cannot reach the private space and homes. The cultivation and consumption of the cannabis should always be restricted by the private area. Thus, it is totally illegal when someone consumes the cannabis in public and the cultivation can be accessed by public. In addition to its restriction in the area where the cannabis is legal, it is not allowed to have cannabis traffic. In other words, the law forbids people to intentionally and unintentionally sell the cannabis.

It is true that there is restriction regarding the traffic or selling of cannabis. It is never allowed so it is purely about personal and private use. However, with this restriction, it will be quite problematic to get the cannabis for those who do not have the plants. Related to this, Spain has interesting laws and regulations for it. It is true that the cannabis cannot be sold and purchased but there is still method to get the cannabis. The solution is to join membership in the cannabis clubs. The cannabis clubs are unique because it is not considered as public area and the clubs are protected by the regulation. Of course, it is not ordinary clubs. The clubs are established and managed under specific regulations. Then, the operations of the clubs are also regulated. That is why there are regulations for those who want to become members of cannabis clubs. First, they must be resident of Spain so travelers from other countries will never get accessed to the clubs. Then, the applicants of membership should be more than 21 years old. There are still other regulations for it. Because the clubs are popular, there are many of them and the locations can be found in https://barcelonaweedmap.com/.
