Flowcharts are easy-make presentations, and they’re available online too. Here’s a short guide to making your flowchart on the web.

Gather Your Data and Tools

The first step to a flowchart is presenting the idea and putting pen into paper. You will need a process and text, as well as a rough draft on how you want your flowchart to look like so you won’t spend more time later.

The tools you need include choosing the flowchart symbols and elements, and the colors you’ll be using. It’s important that you stick to two or three colors and symbols so it’s easy to understand.

Arrange the Flowchart Elements

Once you find a suitable flowchart builder it’s time to familiarize yourself with the interface. It shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes or so.

You should have the process and text, as well as the flowchart elements on hand. The next step involves applying it to digital paper- don’t think too much and just lay it out there. As a general rule, you should construct your flowchart starting from the top leading to the bottom, or from left going to right.

Optimize as Necessary

At this point you’ll start catching errors in your flow of data, which you should correct right away. It’s the most extensive part in putting together text and flowchart elements to create a cohesive whole.

Optimize by making text or objects smaller or bigger as needed. This is also the time where you add colors and other features to make it more interesting.

Place the Finishing Touches

You should have a working flowchart that’s ready to print or to present to your audience. Give your flowchart a once-over and proofread for spelling errors. You can review one last time before you save or export to your offline storage or the cloud.
