The Beijing Olympics have come and gone. But that doesn’t mean the athletes have stopped training! Sponsored by HomeLight in 2022, the US Ski Team is still hard at work getting ready for upcoming competitions—including the 2026 Olympics in Milano and Cortina, Italy.

So, what’s next for the US Ski Team? This story starts with their successes at this year’s Winter Olympics.

How Did the US Ski Team Fare at the 2022 Beijing Olympics?

For some American athletes and fans, the 2022 Beijing Olympics proved a little disappointing. The US finished the Games ranked fourth in total medal count behind Norway, Germany, and the People’s Republic of China.

However, there were plenty of reasons to celebrate, especially in the skiing competitions. These members of the US Ski Team took home hardware—and bragging rights:

  • Alex Hall – Gold Medal in Men’s Slopestyle Skiing
  • Ashley Caldwell, Christopher Lillis, and Justin Schoenefeld – Gold Medal in Mixed Team Aerials Skiing
  • David Wise – Silver Medal in Men’s Skiing Halfpipe
  • Jaelin Kauf – Silver Medal in Women’s Moguls
  • Nick Goepper – Silver Medal in Men’s Slopestyle Skiing
  • Ryan Cochran-Siegle – Silver Medal in Men’s Super G
  • Alex Ferreira – Bronze Medal in Men’s Skiing Halfpipe
  • Jessie Diggins – Bronze Medal in Women’s Spring Cross Country Skiing
  • Megan Nick – Bronze Medal in Women’s Aerial Skiing

Many of these athletes plan on competing for years to come. And they’ll get another chance to showcase their skills in a handful of upcoming international events.

What Upcoming Events Does the US Ski Team Have?

The US athletes hope to use their successes in Beijing as a springboard for their upcoming competitions. Here are a few events you can check out to scratch your skiing itch:

  • March 20th through 27th, 2022: Canadian National Championships in Whistler, British Columbia
  • October 22nd through 23rd, 2022: FIS Women’s and Men’s Giant Slalom Competition in Solden, Austria
  • November 19th through 20th: FIS Women’s and Men’s Slalom Competition in Levi, Finland
  • February 6th through 19th, 2023: FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Courchevel & Méribel, France

Check your local listings to tune into as many US Ski Team competitions as you can. Or watch your favorite athletes in person! Why not plan the trip of a lifetime to cheer on some world-class athletes?

What Are the US Ski Team’s Hopes for the 2026 Olympics?

The US Ski Team has high goals for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Games in Italy. In addition to the current six Olympic ski events—downhill, slalom, giant slalom, super-G, combined, and mixed team parallel slalom—they’ll have a new one to contend with. The IOC has approved the addition of Ski Mountaineering to the 2026 Games.

Although the team roster won’t be finalized until a few weeks before the Opening Ceremonies, the American athletes are already in training. And the goal, of course, is to bring home the gold.
