In the global tourism industry, Saro Spadaro has emerged as a leading figure—one who blends long-term strategic vision with hands-on execution and strong territorial impact. With over twenty years of experience at the helm of The Maho Group, he has shaped Sint Maarten into a model of integrated development in hospitality and real estate, setting a benchmark in the Caribbean region for high-end tourism and sustainable growth.
After graduating in Business Administration from Bocconi University, Saro Spadaro chose to invest his skills in one of the most challenging markets of the international tourism sector where the gap between planning and delivery often defines success. It’s precisely this pragmatic, execution-driven mindset that defines his leadership style: not just vision, but active involvement at every stage, from concept to daily operations.
One of the most telling moments in his journey came in 2017, when Hurricane Irma devastated the island. Rather than step away, Saro Spadaro stayed on the ground, coordinating emergency evacuations, supporting the community, and leading a recovery effort that became a case study in private-sector crisis management. It was a clear demonstration of what responsible leadership looks like in critical conditions.
Today, The Maho Group employs over one thousand professionals from more than fifteen nationalities. For Saro Spadaro, human capital is not an auxiliary resource: it is the very core of the business. His multicultural teams operate in an environment where respect, inclusion and personal growth are prioritized. For him, the quality of a guest’s experience is built on authentic human interaction. No design element can rival the value of meaningful relationships.
His professional trajectory reflects a consistent alignment between ideas, decisions, and actions. It’s this coherence that has defined his reputation in the international business landscape. In Saro Spadaro’s view, enterprise is not just a matter of economics, but also a question of responsibility and relational depth. And it is precisely in this integrated, human-focused approach to leadership that the essence of his long-standing success lies.
