Houseplants are well-suited for apartments and condos. They can help circulate the air around your home at Lyndenwoods and liven up your place. Choosing a plant is essential because some need more care and maintenance than others.  Below are some useful tips for caring for your plant.

Select plants that work with your schedule

Some plants need more care and maintenance than others. If you’re a busy person, choose plants that require little attention. These need less water, sunlight, and are easier to care for than others. Examples are cacti, snake plants, and aloe vera.

Be mindful when watering plants

Plants need enough water to survive and thrive, but watering too frequently can lead to drowning. If the soil looks dark and moist, your plant has enough water. It’s best to use warm water because it is absorbed easily.

Don’t use too much fertilizer

Fertilizers can provide nutrients that enhance the health and performance of the plant. Be careful when using fertilizer, as applying too much can harm the plant, the environment, and the animals. If you choose to fertilize your plant, make sure to use it moderately to avoid these problems.

Provide your plants with sunlight

One of the main concerns of caring for a plant is ensuring that the plant absorbs enough sunlight. If you plan to purchase an indoor plant, make sure to keep it near windows to let it absorb the sunlight. Take note that windows facing the south receive more sunlight than the opposite side. Some plants need more sunlight than others, so make sure to meet their requirements by moving them to their preferred spot.

Keep your room ventilated

Most plants prefer high humidity and moderate, indirect light. A humidifier can help plants and is good for us too. However, most desert dwellers, such as cacti and succulents, prefer dry air and bright, direct light. Staying true to your plant’s natural habitat will help your plant live happily indoors.
